Personal Revival Today, and a Type of Things to Come
— Day of Dividing (21st of Abib), 179 JE —
JEHOVAH delivered Israel from the bondage of Egypt on the Day of Redemption, being Abib 15, as a result of their obedience of the Pesach Commandment, typifying the Cross of LORD JEHOSHUA. Egypt, representing sin, typifies what the LORD JEHOSHUA saves us from at His suffering and death on the Cross on Abib 15. Hence, as ancient Israel was delivered from bondage after they obeyed the Pesach Commandment, we are also delivered from our bondage of sin by the covering blood of our MESSIAH, made available by the fountain that was opened on that selfsame day.
But Satan and his confederates are not happy with how GOD snatches His people from them without at least staging a determined resistance. Thus the Egyptian priests, inspired by this same spirit that influenced Pharaoh and the leaders of Egypt to march to the camp of Israel, and if possible lead them back to captivity. This is also true in our case. When we repent from a particular sin, especially an addiction, demons controlling that sinful habit regroup with even seven times stronger resistance (see Matthew 12:43-45).
So, we should not be surprised to see our old leavenings (repented sinful traits) springing up and seeking to gain a foothold on us with a stronger urge/force. As Israel marched in victory led by our COMMANDER and SAVIOUR in the cloud, throughout their journey in the week of Unleavened Bread to the Red Sea “across a dreary desert like expense … some already began to wonder whither their course would lead. Some hearts began to arise a fear of pursuit by the Egyptians.” Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 283.
But we should be careful as we lift up our MESSIAH’S Cross and follow Him. It should be “with fear and trembling,” lest the cares of this life and it’s difficulties should cause us to fail from beholding Him, as the desert and rocky paths in the pilgrim journey caused ancient Israel to “question among themselves if [the pillar of cloud] might not foreshadow some great calamity…” Ibid p 284, pp 2.
As the armies of Egypt came to overtake the camp of GOD, suddenly “the cloudy column rose majestically into the heavens, passed over the Israelites, and descended between them and the armies of Egypt. A wall of darkness interposed between the pursued and their pursuers. The Egyptians could no longer discern the camp of the Hebrews, and were forced to halt…” Ibid p 287.
This I believe happened as the result of the faithful few and Moses who after considering their helplessness and circumstance being “…encamped beside the sea, where waters presented a seemingly impassable barrier before them while on the south a rugged mountain obstructed their further progress…” Ibid. p. 283 pp 5; p. 284. They “cried out unto JEHOVAH” (see Exodus 14:10).
We need to begin to know JEHOVAH more than we do now. For He lives to lead us in strait places that we might learn to trust fully in Him and see His saving hands more clearly, which our eyes are prone to ignore in our state of security. And also we must learn to call upon the name of JEHOSHUA in our distresses. Then GOD would begin to restore the joy of salvation on the 15th of Abib which the enemy might have succeeded to steal from our minds we as are distracted from beholding the LAMB through the fears and cares of this life. For “…all things work together for good to them that love GOD…” Romans 8:28.
Remember, all these difficulties were not GOD’S intention to cause discouragement. For “every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth (prunes) it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” John 15:2. But the enemy seeks to turn this pruning process into a curse, when we allow our minds to become distracted from beholding the LAMB.
“The cloud was a wall of darkness to the Egyptians was to the Hebrews a great flood of light,.. shedding brightness upon the path before them. So, the dealings of Providence bring to the unbelieving, darkness and despair, while to the trusting soul they are full of light and peace. The path where GOD leads the way may lie through the desert or the sea, but it is a safe path.”
ibid p. 290
But the unbelieving in Israel’s camp were shielded by the faith of the penitent few who called upon JEHOVAH. And they were revealed at the rebellion and shaking out in the 40-year period (a generation) of rejection. Notice that there are two times of salvation to the liberated nation of Israel:
1. The Day of Redemption as they were delivered from bondage of the Egyptians on Abib 15
2. The last day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread on Abib 21 (the Red Sea deliverance)
Moses said unto the people, “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of JEHOVAH … for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them no more forever. JEHOVAH shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”
Exodus 14:13-14.
But these two salvational events are but one: the plan of redemption. It is a miniature demonstration of the bigger picture, from the Day of Redemption in 31 CE to the Day of Dividing at the close of the 1,000 years, when the Mount of Olives is divided and turned into a plain for the City of GOD to rest upon, dividing the wicked, outside the city, from the righteous within. So many who miss seeking JEHOVAH in penitence now that He may be found (in this week of Unleavened Bread) will not overcome the sin that so easily besets them, as well as the reinforced sevenfold resistance of the enemy’s attacks, and will, as a result, be left outside of the city.
We need to use this Feast of Unleavened Bread to our advantage in personal revival. Let us be among the group who call upon the Names of JEHOVAH and JEHOSHUA and who shall have a wall behind them as they pass through the Red Seas of their lives, in victory over their enemies. Then they shall sing the song of Moses when they reach the Holy City on the Last Great Day (akin to the last day of Unleavened Bread when it was sung anciently) after their seven-day journey there from this earth.
More details on the antitype of the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the last year of this earth’s history and at the end of the 1,000 years can be found in Ricky Bokovoy’s two books: The first, Seventh Month Revival (now on sale), and the second we are awaiting the completion of—Discovering Mysteries of the Lost Calendar.
