— 27th of Abib, 179 JE —
Have you ever wondered why there are seven weeks plus one day to Pentecost?
There is so much depth of meaning in the count to Pentecost. Like the seven annual holy days, the seven Sabbaths is an oath, for in biblical culture, something had to be repeated seven times to make an oath. The sending of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost was the promised covenant; that is why seven Sabbaths must proceed from the resurrection of the MESSIAH before He could commence His covering work in the heavenly sanctuary. He must perform the sevenfold Sabbatic sign of the covenant.
It is tied to the full moon of Abib as well, for the seven Sabbaths proceed from it. The idea is of fullness/completeness and, through the number 8 (the day from the previous week for both First-fruits and Pentecost is 8) also outpouring, for 7 is fullness, but 8 is overflowing.
So, we see in the Pentecost a blend of solar and lunar principles. The sun represents righteousness/justice and the moon represents the gospel/mercy; GOD’S calendar includes both, which is why there are two independent cycles (sorry, no lunar sabbaths); yet In Pentecost, they are blended together, for the Law was given on the typical Pentecost in the Exodus. But in the new covenant, the Holy Spirit was poured out, as part of the gospel, for the end purpose of writing the Law in the hearts, with the giving of gifts that this may be completed in the whole world.
O the abounding, overflowing depths of GOD’S mercies! He has so much for us, but we receive so little. The secret of His grace to overcome all sin unto no more need of a MEDIATOR is in the intelligent observance of His calendar, in celebrating the plan of redemption, which, through its proclamation via the seven holy proclamations (mistranslated as ‘convocations’), will fall as the latter rain—the Sabbath gospel proclaimed more fully!!!
Receive it! It is ours, if we will only believe! GOD is giving us His calendar to finish His sanctifying work in us; let us not refuse His outpouring because it goes against our former beliefs. We need Bible religion. We need the daily, weekly, monthly, yearly experience of covering (the common calendar theme), which will lead to our protection in the seven last plagues, and ultimately, protection for the whole universe insomuch that sin will never rise a second time!
I go into these things in more depth in my upcoming book, Discovering Mysteries of the Lost Calendar, which we plan on releasing later this biblical summer, perhaps in the season of Pentecost.
